BRENDA STEPHANI, LCPC

Brenda offers in-person and equine therapy to children, teens, and families in Livingston, Montana. She received her Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2017, followed by a post-master's certificate in Equine-Assisted Mental Health in 2018. Her career spans residential treatment for problematic technology use and many years in community mental health settings serving youth and families across school, home, and community environments.

If you are ready for change, Brenda is here to walk alongside you as you find it. She brings an authentic, grounded presence to therapy and believes that a strong, trusting relationship is the foundation for meaningful growth. Her approach is warm, curious, and nonjudgmental — creating a space where clients feel supported, seen, and safe to explore. While the work is important, therapy doesn't have to feel heavy; humor, creativity, and moments of lightness are part of the process.

She uses a strengths-based, experiential approach, incorporating nature, animals, and interactive activities whenever possible. She draws from evidence-based practices including person-centered therapy, motivational interviewing, CBT, and solution-focused therapy, while also integrating equine-assisted and nature-based work for deeper insight and healing. She collaborates closely with families, schools, and other supports to ensure consistent, holistic care.

Her work is trauma-informed and client-centered, honoring each person's full story while helping them reconnect with their resilience and capacity for growth. She helps clients navigate trauma, addiction (specifically technology), somatic awareness, parenting challenges, child/youth behaviors, sibling conflict, family therapy, depression, anxiety and neurodivergence.

With youth, she strives to make therapy engaging and meaningful—something they benefit from, not just endure. She is passionate about working with children, adolescents, and families, especially those navigating trauma, neurodivergence, or challenges with technology use. Her experience in residential treatment for technology addiction allows her to help clients restore balance with gaming, social media, and other screen-related behaviors.
