FAQs

Whether you're seeking help for yourself, your family, or a loved one, we're here to provide guidance and answers to assist you in making informed decisions. You can also contact our office at (406) 813-0301 or welcome@manmadementors.com.

  • We specialize in helping individuals 13 years of age and older that are navigating life transitions. Whether the transition is from middle school to high school, high school to college or career, single to married, or a change in careers, we believe everyone can benefit from having someone to talk to as they gain their footing in a new direction. We also specialize in helping individuals figure out the best next step or deeper purpose when they aren’t sure what path to take.

Most often, our clients are struggling with difficulties related to depression, anxiety, drug use, trauma, ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Disorder.

  • Contact us at (406) 813-0301 or complete our contact form online.

We will ask that you tell us a little bit about yourself or your child so we can connect you with the counselor we think will be the best fit for a free 30-minute consultation. Or you can review our Team page and let us know which counselor you would like to meet.

If we do not feel that we have a counselor that will be a good match, or with the expertise to handle your specific issue, we are happy to make a recommendation to another counselor in the Bozeman area.

  • We believe that the most important factor in a therapeutic relationship is the relationship itself.

This consultation allows you or your child to get to know our counselor and see if you/they feel it is a good fit. Guardians can join if they would like, but we recommend deferring to your child’s preference.

By the end of the consultation, our goal is to understand what we can support you in and for you to understand how we go about doing that in a therapeutic setting.

Once you have your 30-minute consultation, contact the counselor directly if you would like to be added to their schedule moving forward. They will send you a link to complete some intake paperwork that will ask for basic contact and insurance information.

  • We are in network with Aetna, Allegiance, Cigna, BlueCross and BlueShield, First Choice Health Network, and PacificSource.

Every insurance plan is different. We highly recommend verifying your coverage for outpatient behavioral health with your insurance company before scheduling your 30-minute consultation. If you need help or guidance, call our office at (406) 813-0301.

If provided with your insurance information, we will process claims on your behalf. If you are out of network, we are happy to provide a detailed receipt or CMS 1500 so you can submit it to your insurance provider.

  • Yes. You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate in writing for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services at least one (1) business day before your first appointment (this does not include your 30-minute free consultation). You can also ask for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule your first appointment.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400.00 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.

  • A pre-licensure candidate has their Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling or Social Work and is working toward their Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) designations. During this period, they have already undergone hundreds of hours of supervised experience and continue to be supervised as they develop.

ManMade Mentors is a group practice focused on developing the next generation of mental health counselors. All are supervised by Clinical Director, Shawn Helvey. This means they have weekly one-on-one meetings with Shawn where they receive meaningful feedback based on their experiences and challenges with clients. We believe that our pre-licensure candidates already have the skills and experience needed to be great counselors but, as a practice, we are committed to supporting them and their growth in meaningful ways.

  • You can call or text 988 to be connected with a trained crisis counselor 24/7. It is a confidential resource for you or for a loved one to call on behalf of someone they believe is in emotional distress.
